Mr. Sparacino (on the left below with his Kenpo Instructor Mr. Sean Crehan) is an avid martial artist with over 20 years of experience. He is a  National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer, and holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo, and a 1st Degree in Jo Kwon Chi (a blend of Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan Karate, and Tai Chi), and has also trained in the Korean art of Tang Soo Do/Mu Duk Kwon.

With Limited American Kenpo in North Carolina, he continues his training by attending seminars, and has done so with well known Kenpoist Mr. Ed Parker Jr., Mr. Larry Tatum (10th Degree), Mr Vic Leroux (10th Degree), Mr. John Sepulveda (9th Degree), to who's organization, the AKTS, Richard belongs to, Mr. Frank Trejo (9th Degree), Mr. Huk Planus (9th Degree), and Mr. Jeff Speakman (8th Degree).

He strongly believes that in teaching Martial Arts to children or adults, it is critical to emphasize not just the physical, but more importantly, essential life skills. These skills include self control, patience, respect, coordination, concentration, and most importantly, confidence in ones abilities not to just defend themselves, but to walk away from conflicts that can be avoided.

Triangle Family Karate encourages the growth of both the Tiger (physical skills) and of the Dragon (spiritual preparedness and maturity) in our classes. Physical size or condition should not limit the individual's potential for growth, and we are committed to helping our students achieve their own maximum potentials. "The better prepared one is for conflict, the less likely we are to engage in it."
